Honey Hearth Loaf
A soft, golden everyday loaf sweetened with our own honey.
Ingredients
- For the loaf
- 500 g strong white bread flour
- 10 g fine sea salt
- 7 g instant yeast
- 350 ml warm water
- 2 tbsp honey from the hive
Method
- Whisk flour, salt and yeast in a large bowl.
- Stir the honey into the warm water, then pour into the flour.
- Mix to a shaggy dough, then knead 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and prove until doubled, about 1 hour in a warm kitchen.
- Shape, prove 40 minutes, then bake at 230°C for 30–35 minutes.
- Cool on a rack before slicing — if you can wait that long.
Notes
No honey on hand? Maple syrup works beautifully too.
